FAMILY GENEALOGY
A family reunion just would not be complete without unlocking the past
and becoming acquainted with the ancestors. The key to successfully
accomplishing this is both in the process of researching family history
and the presentation of your research. Having
the proper note taking papers for documenting facts is essential. Knowing
where to find information is crucial.
Local and home town libraries, federal reports, state and city offices,
hospitals and school systems can be very helpful. Genealogical
research associations may assist you in getting rare documents and
artifacts. Still the best place to start is with the family.
Interview each family member with pointed questions that will unlock a
treasure chest of information and direction regarding the kind of people
your ancestors were and the activities they enjoyed.
PRESENTATION
Table with artifacts, heirlooms and historic documentation in the form of
certificates, ancestors diplomas, awards, old greeting cards and letters,
photos and paintings can bring the past to life and conjure up fond
memories long forgotten.

FAMILY FUNDS
Reunions can be expensive and getting funds for events can be a challenge. There are several fun and enriching ways to bring in funds for reunion events. A family or neighborhood auction does well. Bake sales at picnics, flea market style yard sales.
Fund Raiser
Kits
are very helpful as these include everything needed to get your fund drive
off to a great start.
Fund raiser kits may include greeting cards,
gift baskets and fine art for auction. Many families have commissioned artists to paint a picture of a loved ancestor, and held it for auction. This
usually proves to be the most successful fund raiser. Not acquainted with artists in your
area? Legendary Heritage in-house-artists would be honored to create your
portrait.
