PROCEDURE
Upon the first visit Mr. Askew
discusses the subject of study with the client. The
artist and client look through his reference portfolio of portraits
and photos for style, position and composition and discuss that
which best suits the subject.
Mr. Askew then
produces “idea sketches" for composition and poses. Once the
desired pose is selected, A photo session is held with the subject in
order to capture expression, physical characteristics, texture, light
and hue.
The weeks following,
Mr. Askew shares with the client detailed sketches of poses and
expressions until the final selection is made.
After the client
approves the composition, Mr. Askew then paints a sample study. This small study shows the client the
over all look that the completed painting will have.
After the sample study presentation has been approved Mr. Askew begins
creating the painting. |
